Darin stellt sie erste Ergebnisse ihres Dissertationsprojekts vor.
Abstract:
Following the tsunami catastrophe in South East Asia Christmas of 2004 the Swedish government had to deal with the fact that over 10 000 citizens were stranded in and around the shores of Thailand. Through televised press conferences the Swedish government communicated their handling of the situation and the actions being taken to the public. The study takes a closer look at the press conferences as rhetorical situations for the management of the national crisis and the implications of the governments‘ responses to that situation.
